Therapy for Individuals
Helping you build self awareness, resilience, coping skills, and practices that can sustain a sense of well-being in your everyday life.
Our bodies and minds are challenged on a daily basis to keep up with the demands placed on us in a modern world. Everyone can benefit from having an objective, empathetic listener to help guide them through different seasons of their lives. There shouldn’t be anything preventing you from getting the support you need.
Here are some reasons you may want to see a therapist:
You’ve gone through a significant life change
You’re feeling stuck in cycles of unhealthy behavior or thought patterns
You suspect that your life is being negatively affected by an experience you had in the past
You have a big or difficult decision to make
You are in an unhealthy relationship or have recently gone through a breakup
Your physical health is interfering with your mental health
You simply want to maintain your mental well-being
Flourish’s Holistic Approach
At Flourish, our approach is a holistic one. We don’t view you as a list of symptoms or diagnoses, but rather, as a whole person. It is our top priority to identify and sustainably treat the underlying causes of your mental health symptoms so that you can thrive. And since we spend real time with you, we get to know you, your story,, and can collaborate with you on your wellness journey.
Our licensed therapists assess your situation from a variety of angles, treating you as a unique individual while building a trusting therapeutic relationship.
Treatment methods used include mindfulness-based interventions, cognitive behavioral therapy, interpersonal neurobiology, attachment theory, self compassion, and functional nutrition. Woven together, these treatment modalities will help you achieve healthy and mindful self-awareness so you are empowered with skills and tools to navigate the tough times with ease.
You are a human being, NOT a diagnosis
People experience anxiety, stress, and depression in different ways. Symptoms may interfere with your daily work, negatively impact relationships, and be either the cause or result of certain chronic health conditions.
You may have received a diagnosis of generalized anxiety disorder or major depressive disorder from a healthcare professional or have labeled your own suffering as stress or depression. The label may even help to temporarily soothe discomfort or a medical professional may prescribe a psychiatric medication based on the diagnosis.
A diagnosis, whether it’s from a professional or self-diagnosed, does not necessarily mean you will get better with targeted treatment, whether that treatment is therapy, medication, or a combination of both. What is missing from a diagnosis is your humanness; your background, your environment, your uniqueness, your lifestyle habits, your story.
At Flourish, the full context of what you are experiencing is more important than the diagnosis. Below we will explore how to differentiate symptoms and consider a bigger picture of possible causes of three of the most common diagnostic labels; normalize how common it is to feel these symptoms; and outline our mindfulness and holistic-based approach to wellness.
Spending time with a therapist for individual sessions on a weekly or bi-weekly basis builds a trusted, therapeutic relationship that can transform your awareness, perspective, experiences, and quality of life.
Our people often experience the following from meeting with a therapist individually and consistently over many months:
An understanding and acceptance of the parts of yourself that you like and don’t like
A mindful awareness and connection to your body and your nervous system
A cultivated sense of ease even during tense or awkward moments
Stronger relationships
Here’s What You Can Expect
Flourish considers the private pay route for psychotherapy to be an advantage over using health insurance since you will not be term-limited in your therapy, your insurance company will not be given any details of your therapy and you will not be given a diagnosis (this is helpful in case you are ever sued and your medical records are subpoenaed). You may also be able to claim the annual cost of therapy as a medical expense tax deduction.
Rates for individual sessions vary by therapist and are determined by their license, experience, and training. Some therapists may have openings for slightly lower rates; please inquire with them directly if this is something you need.
50-minute sessions, Telehealth (video) therapy for Texas residents or in-person therapy for Austin residents:
Cyndi Collen & Nikki Williams: $150 - 175
Sara Walls & Peyton English: $80 - 110
Inga Overstreet (Graduate-level LPC intern): $50
Longer sessions are pro-rated based on the 50-minute session rate.
For the best therapeutic outcomes, we recommend seeing a therapist weekly; if bi-weekly is better for your budget, you will collaborate with your therapist on the best approach.
