My passion is helping teens and adults recognize their strengths and develop confidence in themselves and their abilities while learning positive coping skills. I strive to create a warm, nurturing, nonjudgmental space that is inclusive and collaborative, where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace. Using evidence-based approaches, as well as humor and compassion, my goal is to work in partnership with you to help you navigate life's challenges. Together we will explore stressors, behavior patterns, and past trauma that may be impeding you from reaching your full potential.
I believe in the power of the present moment and the mind-body connection to bring clarity and harmony to the mind, and I integrate this philosophy into our sessions to help you build a sense of safety, openness, and resilience. Together, we'll work on cultivating a deeper sense of self-awareness and self-compassion, empowering you to overcome obstacles and embrace life's possibilities.
My 18 years of experience as a school counselor brings a deep understanding of the unique needs of adolescents and this experience can help adolescents (and their parents) understand how to effectively work within the school environment.
My specialties are:
Anxiety
ADHD
Depression
Chronic Stress
Life transitions
Relationship Challenges
Trauma
I use the following therapy frameworks:
Mindfulness
Motivational Interviewing
Attachment Theory
CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy)
IFS (Internal Family Systems)
Sand Tray Therapy
Somatic Therapy
In my free time, I enjoy spending time outdoors connecting with nature, and I especially enjoy anything on or in the water, as well as getting my hands dirty in the garden. These activities inspire the calm and balance I aim to bring into my practice. I value spending time with my children, who are now on the verge of adulthood, when they can fit me into their busy schedules!
I look forward to walking alongside you on your journey toward growth and well-being.
